Tens of thousands of rose bushes bloom every year in late spring throughout Eltville. Hundreds of different varieties of the queen of flowers call this place home, and the city of Eltville with its romantic Electoral Castle and the winding old town by the banks of the Rhine transforms into a breathtaking sea of blossoms filled with vibrant colors and fragrances. All this and much more is the focus of the Eltville Rose Days, which take place every year on the first weekend of June in the wine, sparkling wine, and rose city. As diverse as the splendor of roses in the gardens of the castle and along the Rhine, the festive program is equally colorful. Specialties, dishes, handcrafted goods, and delicious treats centered around the rose will be presented, and visitors to the Rose Days will be offered a wonderful weekend experience full of shopping and a wide range of activities related to the theme "rose" in the city. Of course, the Electoral Castle with its rose garden will be an important focal point on the first weekend of June, but the alleyways of the old town and other squares in the city center will also provide attractive spaces for activities, strolling, discovering, and, of course, shopping and enjoying. From handicrafts to garden, home, and clothing accessories, as well as a wide range of culinary delights, a successful mix for the festival audience will be created - whether through local retailers offering particularly "rosy" deals or through the numerous craft stands presenting a colorful array of goods in the city center, along the Rhine, and in the castle. The media library, located right in the heart of the festivities, has also prepared a nice activity program for the whole family. At the Rheingau Lounge on the Platz der Deutschen Einheit, local bands will perform, and the community of Eltville winemakers will serve their fine wines. On both days (Saturday at 5 p.m., Sunday at 11 a.m.), a free tour with the gardener through the rose gardens of the Electoral Castle will take place. Zehntausende Rosenstöcke erblühen jedes Jahr im Spätfrühling in ganz Eltville. Hunderte verschiedene Sorten der Königin der Blumen sind hier zu Hause und die Stadt Eltville mit ihrer romantischen Kurfürstlichen Burg und der verwinkelten Altstadt am Rheinufer verwandelt sich dann stets in ein atemberaubendes Blütenmeer mit rauschendem Farben und Düften. All das und noch viel mehr steht im Mittelpunkt der Eltviller Rosentage, die jedes Jahr am ersten Juni-Wochenende in der Wein-, Sekt- und Rosenstadt stattfinden. So vielfältig wie die Rosenpracht in den Gärten der Burg und am Rhein ist auch das bunte Festprogramm. Es werden Spezialitäten, Speisen, Kunsthandwerk und leckere Köstlichkeiten rund um die Rose präsentiert und die Rosentage-Besucher bekommen ein wunderschönes Erlebnis- und Einkaufswochenende mit einem bunten Spektrum an Aktionen rund um das Thema „Rose“ in der Stadt geboten. Selbstverständlich wird die Kurfürstliche Burg mit dem Rosengarten am ersten Juniwochenende wichtiger Anlaufpunkt sein, aber auch die Altstadtgässchen und weitere Innenstadtplätze werden attraktiven Raum für Aktionen, Flanieren und Entdecken sowie natürlich Shoppen und Genießen bieten. Von Kunsthandwerk über Garten-, Wohn- und Kleidungs-Accessoires bis hin zu einem breiten Angebot an kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten wird eine gelungene Mischung für das Festpublikum kreiert – sei es durch die lokalen Einzelhändler, die mit besonders „rosigen“ Angeboten aufwarten, oder durch die Vielzahl an Kunsthandwerksständen, die in der Innenstadt, am Rheinufer und in der Burg ein bunt gefächertes Angebot präsentieren. Auch die mitten im Festgeschehen liegende Mediathek hat ein nettes Aktionsprogramm für die ganze Familie vorbereitet. Auf der Rheingau-Lounge auf dem Platz der Deutschen Einheit spielen lokale Bands und die Gemeinschaft der Eltviller Winzer schenkt dazu ihre guten Tropfen aus. An beiden Tagen (Samstag um 17 Uhr, Sonntag um 11 Uhr) findet ein kostenfreier Rundgang mit dem Gärtner durch die Rosenanlagen der Kurfürstlichen Burg statt.
