Now already a fixed institution that is part of many people's weekly schedule, the fitness group of the Taunusklub Bad Ems is always on the move on Thursdays. Regularly and punctually it starts off. A distance of about 10 km is hiked calmly but not sluggishly – it is not a walk. The immediate area around Bad Ems offers a variety of hiking options. After a while, the same route can also be retraced. The different seasons provide a different impression. In addition to the approximately 10 km hikes, there is an additional hiking offer, which is well received. This takes place as part of the fitness hikes and is aimed at everyone who can no longer ascend our mountains so well and cannot hike such long distances. The meeting point for the hikes and the final resting place generally remain the same for everyone. The (partial)B group hikes a shorter distance (5 to 8 km) with less elevation. All are warmly invited to the hikes who enjoy hiking and would like to experience our beautiful homeland in the fresh air. Participation is free; only any incurred travel costs need to be reimbursed. The hike on the first Thursday of the month is always planned and carried out with as little elevation as possible. On May 28, at 9:30 a.m., we will hike from the meeting point Lidl parking lot along the Lahnhöhenweg to Miellen (chapel). From there, we will go upwards through the Schweizertal and up to Malberg. Then we will head downhill and soon reach the final resting place "Akashi". On June 4, at 9:30 a.m., we will hike from the meeting point Lidl parking lot via Jahn- and Arenberger Street to Jungfernhöhe. We will descend along the Kaiser-Friedrich promenade to Fachbach, there to the Fachbacher Wassertretbecken and on to Nievern for a break during the parish festival. From there, we will return along the Lahn to Bad Ems. On June 11, we will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Westbahnhof (Lidl parking lot) through the Kurpark to Schillereck and over Sonnenhalde to Repselskopf. From there, we will descend to Grabenstraße, continue through Schlesierweg to Bismarckhöhe, and from there, descend to Bad Ems for a break at the restaurant "Alt Ems". On June 18, the A group will start from the meeting point at 9:30 a.m. in Arzbacher Straße - near No. 28 over Linz- Blös- and Klingelkopf to Adolfschacht and from there back to the starting point via the "Bergbauweg". The final stop will be at the inn "Zur Kreuzmühle". The B group meets at Westbahnhof (Lidl parking lot) and hikes through Emsbachtal to the final stop. On June 25, the meeting point is at 9:30 a.m. at the Lidl parking lot at Westbahnhof. From there, we will head over Ernst-Vogler-Weg, (almost) Bismarckhöhe and Westersbach towards Repselskopf. From there, we will go along Lahnhöhenweg towards Höhenhaus, further into the valley of Unterbach, back along the Lahn with a stop at "Pizzeria Roma" by the campsite. The B group will hike along the valley of the Lahn to Dausenau and take the train back. All again beautiful destinations and interesting routes that invite you to join in hiking. Therefore, the heartfelt invitation is to be part of it and to do something good for yourself and your fitness.
Nun schon als feste Einrichtung, die für viele zum Wochenplan gehört, ist die Fitnessgruppe des Taunusklubs Bad Ems stets donnerstags unterwegs. Regelmäßig und pünktlich geht es los. Dann wird eine Strecke von ca. 10 km ruhig aber nicht trödelnd – kein Spaziergang – erwandert. Die nähere Heimat rund um Bad Ems bietet eine Vielfalt von Wandermöglichkeiten. Nach geraumer Zeit kann auch wieder der gleiche Weg zurückgelegt werden. Die verschiedenen Jahreszeiten verschaffen dann einen anderen Eindruck. Zu den ca. 10 km-Wanderungen gibt es ein zusätzliches Wanderangebot, welches gut angenommen wird. Dieses findet im Rahmen der Fitnesswanderungen statt und richtet sich an alle, die unsere Berge nicht mehr so gut erklimmen und auch keine so langen Strecken wandern können. Der Treffpunkt für die Wanderungen und das Schlussrastlokal bleiben in der Regel für alle gleich. Die (Teil)-B-Gruppe wandert eine nicht so lange Strecke (5 bis 8 km) mit weniger Steigungen. Zu den Wanderungen sind alle herzlich eingeladen, die gerne wandern und in der frischen Luft unsere schöne Heimat genießen möchten. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos, nur die evtl. anfallenden Fahrkosten sind zu erstatten. Die Wanderung am ersten Donnerstag im Monat wird stets mit möglichst geringen Steigungen geplant und durchgeführt. Am 28. Mai wird um 9.30 Uhr vom Treffpunkt Lidl-Parkplatz über den Lahnhöhenweg nach Miellen (Kapelle) gewandert. Von dort geht es durch das Schweizertal aufwärts und bis zum Malberg. Nun geht es abwärts und bald wird dann das Schlussratslokal „Akashi“ erreicht. Am 04. Juni wird um 9.30 Uhr vom Treffpunkt Lidl-Parkplatz über die Jahn- und Arenberger Straße zur Jungfernhöhe gewandert. Über die Kaiser-Friedrich-Promenade geht es abwärts nach Fachbach, dort noch bis zum Fachbacher Wassertretbecken und nach Nievern zur Rast beim Pfarrfest. Von dort geht es an der Lahn zurück nach Bad Ems. Am 11. Juni geht es vom Treffpunkt um 9.30 Uhr beim Westbahnhof (Lidl-Parkplatz) durch den Kurpark zum Schillereck und über die Sonnenhalde zum Repselskopf. Von dort wird dann abwärts zur Grabenstraße, durch den Schlesierweg weiter zur Bismarckhöhe und von dort abwärts nach Bad Ems, zur Rast in das Restaurant „Alt Ems“ gewandert. Am 18. Juni geht es für die A-Gruppe vom Treffpunkt um 9.30 Uhr in der Arzbacher Straße -Nähe Nr 28 über den Linz- Blös-und Klingelkopf zum Adolfschacht und von dort über den „Bergbauweg“ zurück zum Ausgangspunkt . Die Schlussrast ist dann im Gasthaus „Zur Kreuzmühle“. Die B-Gruppe trifft sich am Westbahnhof (Lidl-Parkplatz) und wandert durch das Emsbachtal zur Schlussrast. Am 25. Juni ist der Treffpunkt um 9.30 Uhr beim Lidl-Parkplatz am Westbahnhof. Von dort aus geht es über den Ernst-Vogler-Weg, die (fast) Bismarckhöhe und Westersbach in Richtung Repselskopf. Von dort geht es über den Lahnhöhenweg in Richtung Höhenhaus, weiter in das Tal des Unterbachs an diesem entlang zurück zur Lahn mit einer Einkehr in der „Pizzeria Roma“ beim Campingplatz. Die B-Gruppe wandert im Tal entlang der Lahn nach Dausenau und fährt mit der Bahn zurück. Alles wieder schöne Ziele und interessante Strecken, die zum Mitwandern einladen. Deshalb gilt die herzliche Einladung, dabei zu sein und für sich und die eigene Fitness etwas Gutes zu tun.
