Jahrhundert direkt über dem Aufgang von der Altstadt zum Schloss erbaut, schützte sie den Zugang symbolisch unter göttlichem Beistand. Noch heute erinnern Schießscharten in den Kirchenmauern an ihre frühere Einbindung in die Wehrarchitektur. Heute ist die behutsam restaurierte Kirche ein Ort für Kultur, Gottesdienste – und besonders beliebt für Trauungen in historischem Ambiente. Ein Besuch lohnt sich vor allem wegen der original erhaltenen Ausstattung sowie dem freigelegten spätmittelalterlichen Fresko im Chorraum.
The late Gothic castle church impresses not only with its architecture but especially with its extraordinary location: Built in the late 15th century directly above the ascent from the old town to the castle, it symbolically protected the access under divine assistance. Even today, the arrow slits in the church walls remind us of its former integration into the defensive architecture. Today, the carefully restored church is a place for culture, services – and particularly popular for weddings in a historic setting. A visit is especially worthwhile because of the originally preserved furnishings as well as the uncovered late medieval fresco in the choir area.
