At the Sustainability Café, the initiative Clean Up Walk Gießen provides insights into their litter collection actions and shows how accessible and community-oriented clean-ups can be organized. Under the motto “If you can celebrate, you can also clean up,” they connect environmental protection with a motivating atmosphere. Topics of the evening include: founding and organizing an initiative, addressing participants, and practical questions from materials to disposal. Also joining is Vera from müllmussweg.de – an environmental activist and initiator of numerous litter collection actions in the region. She demonstrates how collecting litter specifically protects nature and how to overcome hesitations to become active themselves. Afterwards, there will be an open exchange and collaborative planning of clean-up actions in Wetzlar. We look forward to seeing you! Participation is free of charge, and no registration is required. No registration & free entry Sustainability Café – briefly explained Sustainability means not only environmental protection but also social responsibility and good coexistence. The Sustainability Café offers an open meeting point where people come together, exchange ideas, learn from each other, and develop joint projects for a more sustainable and solidarity-based society. For over two years, the Sustainability Café has been held once a month at the city library in Wetzlar – always on the last Thursday at 7 p.m. There are usually short impulse talks on topics such as sustainable mobility, biodiversity, climate adaptation, renewable energies, or nutrition. Afterwards, there is time for conversations, exchange, and networking. Ideas can emerge, and joint actions can be planned. A cozy atmosphere with small snacks and drinks is provided. The topics are oriented towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Wie gelingt lokales Umweltengagement? Beim Nachhaltigkeitscafé gibt die Initiative Clean Up Walk Gießen Einblicke in ihre Müllsammel-Aktionen und zeigt, wie niedrigschwellig und gemeinschaftlich Clean-ups organisiert werden können. Unter dem Motto „Wer feiern kann, kann auch aufräumen“ verbinden sie Umweltschutz mit motivierender Atmosphäre. Themen des Abends sind u. a.: Gründung und Organisation einer Initiative, Ansprache von Teilnehmenden sowie praktische Fragen von Material bis Entsorgung. Mit dabei ist außerdem Vera von müllmussweg.de – Umweltengagierte und Initiatorin zahlreicher Müllsammelaktionen in der Region. Sie zeigt, wie Müllsammeln konkret die Natur schützt und wie sich Hemmungen überwinden lassen, selbst aktiv zu werden. Im Anschluss geht es in den offenen Austausch und an die gemeinsame Planung von Clean-up-Aktionen in Wetzlar. Wir freuen uns auf euch! Das Nachhaltigkeitscafé bietet einen offenen Treffpunkt, an dem Menschen zusammenkommen, Ideen austauschen, voneinander lernen und gemeinsame Projekte für eine nachhaltigere und solidarische Gesellschaft entwickeln können. Seit über zwei Jahren findet das Nachhaltigkeitscafé einmal im Monat in der Stadtbibliothek Wetzlar statt – immer am letzten Donnerstag um 19 Uhr. Meist gibt es kurze Impulsvorträge, zum Beispiel zu Themen wie nachhaltige Mobilität, Biodiversität, Klimaanpassung, erneuerbare Energien oder Ernährung. Danach bleibt Zeit für Gespräche, Austausch und Vernetzung. Dabei können Ideen entstehen und gemeinsame Aktionen geplant werden. Für eine gemütliche Atmosphäre sowie kleine Snacks und Getränke ist gesorgt. Die Themen orientieren sich an den 17 Nachhaltigkeitszielen der Vereinten Nationen (SDGs).
