After the great success of THE GOOD ONES at the Hessian State Theatre Marburg, DIE INSEL by Rebekka Kricheldorf is now coming to our stage. The play by Rebekka Kricheldorf leaves no absurdity untouched and can warm and excite your hearts and senses in February. On a beautiful island in the Caribbean, with sun, beach, and all other sensory impressions, we meet the protagonists of the play. The four handpicked super experts Ann, André, Hannes, and Kristina work in this wonderful, dazzling environment. They are researching the perfect marketing of artificially produced meat. They have been chosen by "Animalsdelight" and have been tasked with developing a seduction strategy for consumers. To do this, they must manipulate the human reward center, fears, and longings. And yes, they want to achieve the nearly impossible. The psychologist Kristina, Hannes, the sociologist, André, with the Master of Manipulation, and Ann, the neurobiologist, are there on behalf of the company, holding meetings and brainstorming for the best strategy and going all out. But they don't really know where they are and in what kind of context they really find themselves, and that the house they are in is a smart house. All of their movements, all of their needs are recorded; the built-in algorithm helps and supports them; it also knows their past, whether they want it to or not. The work assignment and the smart house are merging more and more into one. The manipulation is affecting them, impacting each one of them personally. The facade of the successful types starts to crumble. "The high-tech of the future" (Rebekka Kricheldorf) plays higher; as in a prism, not only do they melt under the sun – the toilet starts to speak, and the walls begin to vibrate. Not only do the neurons start to glow, but also the quanta and pixels interweave, giving birth to new connections and then raising the age-old questions: "Who am I, and if so, how many?" (Richard David Precht). For all people aged 15 and above, who want to view the technical possibilities of the future with a wink and would like to laugh at manipulation attempts.

Sie forschen an der perfekten Vermarktung künstlich erzeugten Fleisches. Von „Animalsdelight“ sind sie auserkoren worden und haben den Auftrag, eine Verführungsstrategie für Verbraucher*innen zu entwickeln. Dafür müssen sie das menschliche Belohnungszentrum, Ängste und Sehnsüchte manipulieren. Und ja, sie wollen das fast Unmögliche schaffen. Die Psychologin Kristina, Hannes, der Soziologe, André, mit dem Master of Manipulation und Ann, die Neurobiologin, sind im Auftrag des Unternehmens dort, halten Meetings und Brainstormings für die aller beste Strategie ab und gehen in die Vollen. Doch so ganz genau wissen sie nicht, wo und in was für einem Zusammenhang sie sich wirklich befinden, und dass das Haus, in welchem sie sind, ein Smart Haus ist. Alle ihre Bewegungen, alle ihre Bedürfnisse werden aufgezeichnet, der eingebaute Algorithmus hilft und unterstützt sie; er kennt auch ihre Vergangenheit, ob sie das wollen oder nicht. Der Arbeitsauftrag und das Smart Haus verschmelzen immer mehr ineinander. Die Manipulation geht auf sie über, betrifft jeden Einzelnen von ihnen selbst. Die Fassade der Erfolgstypen bröckelt. „Das High Tech der Zukunft“ (Rebekka Kricheldorf) zockt höher, wie in einem Prisma schmelzen nicht nur sie unter der Sonne – das Klo fängt an zu sprechen und auch die Wände fangen an zu vibrieren. Nicht nur die Neuronen fangen an zu glühen, auch die Quanten und Pixel verschachteln sich, gebären neue Zusammenhänge und werfen dann doch die uralten Fragen auf: „Wer bin ich und wenn ja wie viele?“ (Richard David Precht). Für alle Menschen ab 15 Jahren, die die technischen Möglichkeiten der Zukunft gern auch mal mit einem Augenzwinkern sehen wollen und über Manipulationsversuche lachen wollen.
