The Silbersee is a wonderful, peaceful place to take a break while hiking along the Boxbach Trail. As the lake and the neighbouring landscape are protected as a nature reserve, swimming or other leisure activities on the water are prohibited. Rare animal species live around the Silbersee, which should not be disturbed. The Silver Lake gets its name from its appearance with steep rock faces and shimmering silver water surface. Dogs are allowed, but swimming is not permitted. Dogs must be kept on a lead in the nature reserve area.
