Seventh Hessian State Barbecue Championship and Bikes en masse It’s that time again soon! The city of Oranienstadt is once again inviting you to the event "Bikes’n’BBQ" on May 3, 2026, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. In addition to a large motorcycle and bicycle exhibition, the seventh Hessian State Barbecue Championship will take place in the Hofgarten area. Furthermore, visitors can look forward to a wide-ranging supporting program. A biker church service will kick off the event, along with a wheelie simulator, bicycle trial shows, barbecue exhibitions, information and action stands, a live graffiti workshop, fun activities for children, a mobile bicycle museum with test ride opportunities, and culinary delights inviting everyone to stroll and linger in Oranienstadt on this Sunday. This year, local businesses will also open their doors in the city center from 12:00 pm with attractive special offers for shopping Sunday. The title of state barbecue champion is to be defended Grilling teams from all over the Federal Republic will again compete in the seventh Hessian State Barbecue Championship this year, hoping to take the coveted title home! The team with the highest overall score will be awarded the title: “Hessian Grill and BBQ Champion 2026”. The Hessian State Barbecue Championship 2026 in Dillenburg is officially licensed by the German Barbecue Association e.V. (GBA). Thus, the competition rules of the GBA apply, which can be viewed at www.bbq-dillenburg.de. The focus of the state barbecue championship is on fun for all participants. Oranienstadt Dillenburg is expecting a variety of ambitious amateur grillers alongside some professionals and looks forward to all who love grilling and know how to score with creative ideas. The competition starts at 11:00 am in the Dillenburg Hofgarten. The grilling teams bring their own grills, required equipment, and ingredients and prepare the main ingredients and side dishes on site. In total, four courses will be prepared by each team, evaluated by a trained jury on site. This will also benefit the audience, as sample bites for the public are definitely welcome. This year's menu will include a vegetarian starter featuring green sauce as a key ingredient, beef with side dish, chef’s choice street food, and a sweet Dillenburger as dessert. Additionally, there will be a so-called fun scoring. This extra evaluation will be carried out by an audience jury, which will also simultaneously receive a spot at the wild-card table of the respective teams. The wild-card spots will be raffled off and awarded through social media (Facebook & Instagram of Oranienstadt Dillenburg). Alongside the dishes, the presentation of the respective teams and the decoration of the stands will also be judged. The winning team from the fun scoring will receive a special prize. Market events around grilling, leisure, and enjoyment Those who have developed a taste for the creations of the grilling teams and want to try their hand will surely find a suitable offer at the barbecue exhibition in the Hofgarten. In addition to grills and suitable accessories, visitors can expect a selection of hand-picked liqueurs, various grilling sauces, and diverse spices. Moreover, from April 30 to May 3, 2026, Culinario Events GmbH will once again host the Food Truck Mile in the Hofgarten area for the third consecutive time. Culinary delights await numerous guests on Wednesday (April 30) from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, on Thursday (May 1) from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, on Friday (May 2) from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, on Saturday (May 3) from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and on Sunday during "Bikes’n’BBQ" from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. The diverse street food offerings include Thai dishes, cheesesteak sandwiches, various burger variations, Austrian delicacies, hot dogs, bratwurst and currywurst, Sicilian street food, and much more. For the sweet-tooths among the guests, there will also be a versatile range of offerings including bubble waffles with various toppings or apple strudel. Drinks such as soft drinks, beer, and cocktails will also be available for visitors on site. Musically, the Food Truck Mile will be accompanied by the DANCE CATS (performing on April 30 at 6:00 pm) and by OVERTIME on May 1 at 4:00 pm – the local full-blooded musicians will bring the best pieces from five decades of music history in the rock & pop genre to the stage. On Saturday, May 2, Ladykiller – Dillenburg's most famous Marius Müller-Westernhagen cover band will take the stage at 6:00 pm. Biker church service to kick off the event Organized by the C.M.A. Christian Motorcyclists Association e.V., a biker church service in the open-air variant will start at 11:00 am to kick off "Bikes’n’BBQ". While the grilling teams begin preparing their menus for the state barbecue championship, interested church service attendees – whether on two wheels or not – will gather on the event grounds in the Hofgarten. Everyone is cordially invited to participate! The church service will be accompanied musically by the “Jordan Wells Band” from Siegen. C.M.A. Germany is a group of Christians from various congregations. The members are united by their love for Jesus Christ, motorcycles, and shared rides. Hot machines are on display during the large bike exhibition Local dealers will showcase beautiful and certainly eye-catching motorcycles in Hofgartenstraße, near the barbecue competition in Hofgarten. Among others, motorcycles from brands like Harley-Davidson, Honda, Indian Motorcycle, Kawasaki, Royal Enfield, and Suzuki can be admired on site. In addition to local dealers, various clubs from the motorcycle scene will also be present, providing insights into their club work and offerings with action stands. Exciting and educational moments are also guaranteed at the wheelie simulator, where Siegen stunt professional Dirk Manderbach will explain the right technique for performing a wheelie. Oranienstadt Dillenburg and all participants look forward to many visitors who also arrive on their own bikes. Corresponding parking spaces for motorcycles are planned on the event grounds in Hofgartenstraße. Access for bikers is via Wilhelmstraße. Additionally, a "Biker Meet" will be set up on site. Bikers, whether motorcycle or bicycle riders, can secure a shady spot right by the action. The bicycle exhibition can be found for the first time this year in the city center – local dealers are showcasing numerous models from the bicycle and e-bike sector in Marktstraße, and cycling clubs are also waiting there for interested visitors. As a special highlight, there will be bicycle trial shows in Marktstraße, guaranteed to impress those present. The "Bike Brothers" from Karlsruhe will demonstrate what is possible with two-wheelers in a total of three 20-minute shows. The spectacular and extraordinary shows will take place at 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm, and 4:00 pm. The cost-free bicycle encoding action of the Regional Traffic Service of the Lahn-Dill-Kreis, in cooperation with the Traffic Watch Dillenburg e.V., will also be on hand again. The Traffic Watch will additionally feature a rollover simulator. In Oberen Hauptstraße, the mobile bicycle museum will return for the second time – trying out and taking test rides is explicitly welcomed! Guests can also expect another special feature: for the first time, there will be live graffiti workshops with the Herborn artist Gor Grigorjan. This interactive art action will present the history of graffiti and various techniques in a relaxed street art manner. In the city center, a generous offer for children and families will also be provided at Wilhelmsplatz. A bouncy castle land, children's games, large games, and additional activities ensure a high quality of stay, creating an attractive transition to Dillenburg's city center. The offers can be used free of charge. From 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, merchants and restaurateurs will open their doors for the first time this year for shopping Sunday and look forward to numerous visitors. A very special action will also be part of the diverse events on Sunday: the artist Santiago Gallardo, based in Herborn, will paint an electricity box at Wilhelmsplatz together with people in need of support. Siebte Hessische Landesgrillmeisterschaft und Bikes en masse Bald ist es wieder soweit! Die Oranienstadt lädt erneut zur Veranstaltung „Bikes’n’BBQ“ am 03. Mai 2026 in der Zeit von 11.00 – 18.00 Uhr ein. Neben einer großen Motorrad- und Fahrradausstellung findet nun bereits die siebte Hessische Landesgrillmeisterschaft im Bereich des Hofgartens statt. Darüber hinaus dürfen sich Besuchende auf ein breit gefächertes Rahmenprogramm freuen. Biker-Gottesdienst zum Auftakt der Veranstaltung, Wheelie-Simulator, Fahrrad-Trial Shows, Grillausstellung, Info- und Aktionsstände, Live-Graffiti-Workshop, Fun-Aktivitäten für Kinder, ein mobiles Fahrradmuseum mit Probefahrmöglichkeiten sowie kulinarische Leckereien laden an diesem Sonntag zum Schlendern und Verweilen in die Oranienstadt ein. In diesem Jahr öffnen auch wieder die Geschäftsleute in der Innenstadt ihre Ladentüren ab 12.00 Uhr mit attraktiven Sonderangeboten zum verkaufsoffenen Sonntag. Den Landesgrillmeistertitel gilt es zu verteidigen Grillteams aus der gesamten Bundesrepublik treten in diesem Jahr erneut zur siebten Hessischen Landesgrillmeisterschaft an, in der Hoffnung, den begehrten Titel nach Hause zu holen! Das Team mit der höchsten Gesamtpunktzahl erhält den Titel: „Hessischer Grill- und BBQmeister 2026“. Die Landesgrillmeisterschaft Hessen 2026 in Dillenburg ist offiziell lizenziert von der German Barbecue Association e.V. (GBA). Damit gelten die Wettkampfregeln der GBA, die unter www.bbq-dillenburg.de einsehbar sind. Bei der Landesgrillmeisterschaft soll der Spaß für alle Beteiligten im Vordergrund stehen. Die Oranienstadt Dillenburg erwartet neben einigen Profis eine Vielzahl an ambitionierten Amateuren der Grillszene und freut sich auf alle, die Spaß am Grillen haben und mit kreativen Ideen zu punkten wissen. Um 11.00 Uhr startet der Wettbewerb im Dillenburger Hofgarten. Die Grillteams bringen ihre eigenen Grills, benötigtes Equipment und Zutaten mit und bereiten jeweils die Hauptzutaten sowie Beilagen vor Ort zu. Insgesamt werden vier Gänge von den einzelnen Teams zubereitet, die durch eine geschulte Jury vor Ort bewertet werden. Davon profitieren auch die Zuschauerinnen und Zuschauer, denn Probierhäppchen für das Publikum sind durchaus erwünscht. Auf dem Speiseplan stehen in diesem Jahr eine vegetarische Vorspeise mit grüner Soße als Hauptbestandteil, Rind mit Beilage, Chefs Choice: Streetfood sowie ein Süßer DillenBurger als Dessert. Darüber hinaus wird es eine sogenannte Fun-Wertung geben. Diese zusätzliche Bewertung wird von einer Publikumsjury vorgenommen, die auch gleichzeitig einen Platz am Wild-Card-Tisch der jeweiligen Teams bekommt. Die Wild-Card-Plätze werden über die sozialen Medien (Facebook & Instagram der Oranienstadt Dillenburg) verlost und anschließend vergeben. Neben den Gerichten werden hier auch das Auftreten der jeweiligen Teams und die Dekoration der Stände bewertet. Das Siegerteam, welches aus der Fun-Wertung hervorgeht, erhält einen Sonderpreis. Marktgeschehen rund um Grillen, Freizeit und Genuss Wer durch die Kreationen der Grillteams auf den Geschmack gekommen ist und selbst Hand anlegen möchte, findet sicher im Rahmen der Grillausstellung im Hofgarten das passende Angebot. Zusätzlich zu Grills und passendem Zubehör erwartet die Besuchenden eine Auswahl an handverlesenen Likören sowie unterschiedlichen Grillsaucen und vielfältigen Gewürzen. Außerdem findet vom 30.04. bis einschließlich 03.05.2026 zum dritten Mal in Folge die Foodtruck Meile von Culinario Events GmbH im Bereich des Hofgartens statt. Kulinarische Köstlichkeiten warten am Mittwoch (30.04.) von 17.00 – 22.00 Uhr, am Donnerstag (01.05.) von 12.00 – 21.00 Uhr, am Freitag (02.05.) von 17.00 – 22.00 Uhr, am Samstag (03.05.) von 12.00 – 22.00 Uhr sowie am Sonntag im Rahmen von „Bikes’n’BBQ” von 11.00 – 18.00 Uhr auf zahlreiche Gäste. Das vielfältige Angebot an Streetfood erstreckt sich u.a. über Thailändische Gerichte, Cheesesteak-Sandwiches, diverse Burger Variationen, Österreichische Leckereien, Hot-Dogs, Brat- und Currywurst, sizilianisches Streetfood und einigem Mehr. Für die Naschkatzen unter den Gästen gibt es zudem ein vielseitiges Angebot u.a. an Bubble-Waffeln mit verschiedenen Toppings oder Apfelstrudel. Alle sind herzlich zur Teilnahme eingeladen! Musikalisch wird der Gottesdienst begleitet von der „Jordan Wells Band“ aus Siegen. C.M.A. Germany ist eine Gruppe von Christen aus den unterschiedlichsten Gemeinden. Die Mitglieder verbindet die Liebe durch Jesus Christus, Motorräder sowie gemeinsame Ausfahrten. Heiße Maschinen sind im Rahmen der großen Bike-Ausstellung zu bestaunen In der Hofgartenstraße, nahe dem Grillwettbewerb im Hofgarten, stellen lokale Händler edle und durchaus sehenswerte Motorräder aus. U.a. können vor Ort Maschinen der Marken Harley-Davidson, Honda, Indian Motorcycle, Kawasaki, Royal Enfield und Suzuki bestaunt werden. Neben lokalen Händlern sind auch diverse Vereine der Motorrad-Szene mit von der Partie und gewähren mit Aktionsangeboten Einblick in die Vereinsarbeit und das eigene Angebot. Spannend und lehrreich wird es auch am Wheelie-Simulator, wenn der Siegener Stuntprofi Dirk Manderbach die richtige Technik zum Wheelie fahren erklärt. Die Oranienstadt Dillenburg und alle Beteiligten freuen sich auf zahlreiche Besuchende, die auch mit dem eigenen Bike anreisen. Entsprechende Parkflächen für die Zweiräder sind auf dem Veranstaltungsgelände in der Hofgartenstraße vorgesehen. Die Zufahrt für Biker erfolgt über die Wilhelmstraße. Darüber hinaus wird ein „Biker-Treff“ vor Ort eingerichtet. Biker, egal ob Motorrad- oder Fahrradfahrende, können sich so ein schattiges Plätzchen unmittelbar am Geschehen sichern. Die Fahrradausstellung ist in diesem Jahr erstmals in der Innenstadt zu finden – in der Marktstraße präsentieren lokale Händler zahlreiche Modelle aus dem Bereich Fahrrad und e-Bike und auch Vereine aus dem Radsport warten dort auf interessierte Besuchende. Als besonderes Highlight wird es in der Marktstraße sogenannte Fahrrad-Trial Shows geben, die bei den Anwesenden garantiert für große Augen sorgen werden. Die Verkehrswacht wartet zudem mit einem Überschlagsimulator auf. In der Oberen Hauptstraße wird zum zweiten Mal in Folge das mobile Fahrradmuseum gastieren – Ausprobieren und Probefahren ist hier ausdrücklich erwünscht! Hier erwartet die Gäste außerdem eine weitere Besonderheit: erstmalig wird es Live-Graffiti-Workshops mit dem Herborner Künstler Gor Grigorjan geben. Bei dieser interaktiven Kunstaktion wird die Geschichte des Graffitis und verschiedene Techniken in lockerer Street-Art Manier vermittelt. Im Bereich der Innenstadt wird auf dem Wilhelmsplatz darüber hinaus ein großzügiges Angebot für Kinder und Familien vorgehalten. Hüpfburgenlandschaft, Kinderschinken, Großspiele und weitere Aktionen sorgen für eine hohe Aufenthaltsqualität und bilden somit einen attraktiven Übergang zur Dillenburger Innenstadt. Die Angebote sind kostenfrei nutzbar. In der Zeit von 12.00 bis 18.00 Uhr öffnen dann die Kaufleute und Gastronomen ihre Ladentüren erstmals in diesem Jahr zum verkaufsoffenen Sonntag und freuen sich auf zahlreiche Besucherinnen und Besucher. Eine ganz besondere Aktion ist am Sonntag außerdem Teil des vielfältigen Geschehens: der in Herborn beheimatete Künstler Santiago Gallardo wird gemeinsam mit Menschen mit Unterstützungsbedarf einen Stromkasten am Wilhelmsplatz bemalen. Auch Passantinnen und Passanten sind herzlich eingeladen, sich an dem Gemälde vor Ort zu beteiligen. Dillenburg ist nämlich eine Stadt für alle Menschen! Und genau das will die Lebenshilfe gemeinsam mit der Oranienstadt Dillenburg, passend zum Europäischen Protesttag zur Gleichstellung von Menschen mit Behinderung, sichtbar machen. Straßensperrungen und Parkplätze Die Oranienstadt Dillenburg bittet alle Veranstaltungsgäste, Anwohnerinnen und Anwohner sowie Gewerbetreibende um Verständnis, dass es während der Veranstaltung zu leichten Einschränkungen in der Nutzung der Verkehrswege kommen kann.
