Vom Parkplatz am Landgasthof Zur Quelle führt die Spessartspur an der Katholischen Kirche vorbei und, nach Überquerung der Straße, den Kirchberg hinauf. Mit zunehmender Höhe gewinnt auch der Blick über Aufenau und in das Kinzigtal immer mehr an Weite und Reiz. Nach der Überquerung der Autobahn lohnt sich ein Abstecher zum Hof Sonnenberg, wo es in der Milchhütte frisches „Eis to go“ gibt. Am Dreiländereck mit seinen historischen Grenzsteinen geht es schließlich abwärts in den Wald hinein und im Tal der Kinzig durch das wertvolle Feuchtgebiet der Zelleraue zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
