Like the river that flows through their hometown of Greenville in South Carolina, the Reedy River String Band carves a vibrant path through progressive newgrass, directly downstream from the source of traditional bluegrass. Immediately after their second European tour, the band flew home to perform a series of U.S. concerts and festivals including a return to the Earl Scruggs Music Festival and their debut at the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion to showcase their new album “Woodland Drifters”. The new album features 14 songs: 13 original compositions and a surprising interpretation of Pink Floyd's “Comfortably Numb”. All three members – Sterling Waite (multi-instrumentalist), Rush Morgan (guitar), and Mark Dye (double bass) – serve as songwriters and lead vocalists. Acoustic masters like IBMA winner Scott Vestal (banjo), Zach Carter (banjo), and Adam Bachman (dobro) lend their talents to expand the sound palette and style of the core trio.
