Das „Mariam Lazizi Quartett“, bestehend aus der deutsch-tunesischen Sängerin Mariam Lazizi, dem hochkarätigen Jazzpianisten Christoph Busse, und den hervorragenden Musikern Bernd Nawothnig (dr) und Thomas Koch (b) zeichnet sich durch einen jazzig-souligen, aber auch weitläufigen, facettenreichen Sound aus. In den Eigenkompositionen der Sängerin geht es u.a. um Erzählungen zu ihren nordafrikanischen Wurzeln, bei denen die Verbindung zur Weltmusik, aber auch zum Soul und Hip Hop spürbar ist.
The "Mariam Lazizi Quartet," consisting of the German-Tunisian singer Mariam Lazizi, the highly acclaimed jazz pianist Christoph Busse, and the outstanding musicians Bernd Nawothnig (dr) and Thomas Koch (b), is characterized by a jazzy-soulful, yet also broad and multifaceted sound. In the singer's original compositions, there are, among other things, narratives about her North African roots, where the connection to world music, as well as to soul and hip hop, is palpable.
