Das Rathaus mit seinem markanten Uhrturm (Ursprungsbau 1589, nach Stadtbrand 1626 neu errichtet), einst Sitz der Räte, des Gerichts und der Stadtwaage, beherbergt bis heute die Stadtverwaltung. 1994 wurde es durch einen Anbau ergänzt. Bemerkenswert ist die umlaufende Wappenborte (Nachbildungen von 1914), die neben dem Stadtwappen auch Wappen wichtiger Herborner Familien aus der Errichtungszeit des Rathauses darstellt.
