Nach leichtem Anstieg bietet der Rundweg im oberen Bereich sehr schöne Ausblicke. Als Besonderheit passiert man im weiteren Verlauf einen Basaltabbaubetrieb, bevor die Strecke wieder talwärts abfällt. Kurz vor Erreichen des Wanderparkplatzes empfiehlt sich der Besuch des Steinkammergrabes. Direkt am Grab erläutert eine Informationstafel das frühgeschichtliche Relikt. Der Rundweg, der auch eine Abkürzung bietet, verläuft auf ganzer Strecke auf befestigtem Untergrund.
