150 events a year are on the repertoire of this theater. Plays, concerts, ballets, musicals, operettas: the programme is colourful, full and requires a great deal of organizational skill. As a guest performance venue, Theater Rüsselsheim is well connected and is repeatedly praised by actors and audiences for its openness and hospitality.
The dedicated team attaches particular importance to getting younger people interested in theater. A third of the performances are aimed at children and young people. The "Young Ensemble" even gives 15 to 25-year-olds the opportunity to perform on stage with professionals. Workshops are held once a season for this purpose; those who want to delve deeper will work on a play under professional direction in the following six months, which will be performed on the theater's main stage. And it is large in every sense of the word: the striking theater building from 1969 seats 865 spectators.

Als Gastspielhaus ist das Theater Rüsselsheim gut vernetzt und wird von Schauspieler*innen und Publikum immer wieder für seine Offenheit und Gastfreundlichkeit gelobt.
Besonderen Wert legt das engagierte Team darauf, jüngere Menschen fürs Theater zu begeistern. Ein Drittel der Vorstellungen richtet sich an Kinder und Jugendliche. Im „Jungen Ensemble“ bekommen 15- bis 25-Jährige sogar die Möglichkeit, selbst mit Profis auf der Bühne zu stehen. Einmal pro Spielzeit finden dazu Workshops statt; wer tiefer einsteigen will, erarbeitet im folgenden halben Jahr unter professioneller Regie ein Stück, das auf die große Bühne des Theaters kommt. Und groß ist die durchaus im Wortsinn: 865 Zuschauer*innen finden in dem markanten Theaterbau von 1969 Platz.
