This is proven by the Alter Bahnhof Heusenstamm restaurant, which welcomes its guests in the carefully restored ticket hall of the listed brick building. There is no hustle and bustle, instead a pleasant bistro atmosphere: sunlight falls through the glazed gable into the dining room, large Art Deco-style ceiling lamps provide beautiful light in the evenings, red leather sofas line the walls and atmospheric black and white photos with motifs from railroad history hang close together above.
The menu invites you on a culinary journey around the world: from Mediterranean cuisine to tarte flambée and burgers to a large selection of traditional Indian dishes, for which the Alte Bahnhof is known and loved.
When the weather is fine, the spacious forecourt is a wonderful place to sit outside - and even though the station is now a restaurant, it is still very well connected: the Heusenstamm S-Bahn stop is just a few steps away.
