It's no wonder that this rustic restaurant is particularly popular with families, as a small playground in the garden with a sandpit, swings, slide and climbing frame is half the battle for parents with (small) children. And the other half is quickly covered, as the inn impresses on the one hand with its location directly on the cycle path and the cider route and on the other with its cuisine and atmosphere. If you sit in the beer garden, you have a wonderful view of the greenery, while inside the former barn, heavy wooden beams and warm light create a cozy atmosphere.
Local and seasonal specialties from Hesse are served: fresh asparagus in spring, goose breast with red cabbage and dumplings in late autumn or venison ragout in winter. Particularly popular classics such as fried Leberkäs are on the menu all year round. These are accompanied by local beers, wines from Rheinhessen and, of course, "Äppelwoi". And the warm apple strudel with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream is the latest thing to bring the children back to the table.

Kein Wunder, dass dieses rustikale Lokal vor allem bei Familien beliebt ist, denn ein kleiner Spielplatz im Garten mit Sandkasten, Schaukeln, Rutsche und Klettergerüst ist für Eltern mit (Klein-) Kindern schon mal die halbe Miete. Und die andere Hälfte hat man schnell zusammen, denn das Gasthaus überzeugt zum einen durch die Lage direkt am Radwanderweg und der Apfelweinroute und zum anderen durch Küche und Atmosphäre. Wer im Biergarten sitzt, blickt herrlich ins Grüne, im Inneren der ehemaligen Scheune sorgen schwere Holzbalken und warmes Licht für gemütliches Ambiente.
Auf den Tisch kommen lokale und saisonale Spezialitäten aus Hessen: frischer Spargel im Frühjahr, Gänsebrust mit Rotkraut und Klößen im Spätherbst oder Wildragout vom Hirsch im Winter. Besonders beliebte Klassiker wie gebratener Leberkäs stehen das ganze Jahr über auf der Speisekarte. Dazu werden lokale Biere, Weine aus Rheinhessen und natürlich „Äppelwoi“ gereicht. Und spätestens für den warmen Apfelstrudel mit Vanilleeis und Sahne kommen auch die Kinder wieder gerne an den Tisch.
