About: Apfelwein Föhl

In the middle of the old town of Neu-Isenburg, on the market square, lies one of the most beautiful apple wine bars in the region. In the wood-paneled dining room, in the inner courtyard or on the market square itself, you can enjoy apple wine and Hessian classics such as hand cheese, green sauce or ribs, but sometimes with a special twist: after all, the owners previously ran Frankfurt's first Mexican restaurant, a French bistro and a disco, among other things. Despite their love of tradition, thinking outside the culinary box is part and parcel of their cuisine, which is why they serve ginger compote with their baked black pudding. But the favorite side dish of the many regulars remains the really good fried potatoes.

Mitten in der Altstadt von Neu-Isenburg, am Marktplatz, liegt eines der schönsten Apfelweinlokale der Region. In dem holzgetäfelten Gastraum, im Innenhof oder auf dem Marktplatz selbst bekommst du Apfelwein und dazu hessische Klassiker wie Handkäs, Grüne Soße oder Rippchen, aber gerne auch mal mit einer besonderen Note: Immerhin hat das Betreiberpaar zuvor unter anderem das erste mexikanische Restaurant Frankfurts aufgebaut oder ein französisches Bistro und eine Disko betrieben. Der Blick über den kulinarischen Tellerrand gehört also bei aller Liebe zur Tradition dazu, und so gibt’s hier zur gebackenen Blutwurst eben Ingwerkompott. Lieblingsbeilage der vielen Stammgäste aber bleiben die wirklich sehr guten Bratkartoffeln.
